Sometimes, you second guess yourself.
This happened tonight for me. I’m working on an application that tracks team health. It’s my project for February. Part of creating12.com. A few days ago, my friend Jay mentioned it would be cool as a Slack application.
I thought that was an intriguing idea. I looked at the slack app marketplace to see what types of applications are on there. To my amazement, I saw an application that does exactly what I want to build – what I am already building.
i started second guessing myself for about 20 minutes. I thought about scrapping the project and even brainstormed what to work on next.
Then, I took a step back.
I remembered that competition is good. If there were no other companies doing this, it would be a cause for concern.
This happens.
But doubt is good. If you are second guessing yourself, that means you’re thinking. Your mind is moldable. You are open to changing your opinions as you get more information.
Doubt is good.
Just don’t let it stop you from moving forward and making progress.
